The Man in the Cold - Jaipur

On a cold January morning, this man was sighted next to a tea stall. I suppose he was curious about us. He was used to seeing foreign tourists around early morning, not a bunch of us on a photo walk.

Sameer - The Little Boy with Big Dreams

This young boy, Sameer. He is really young. Was begging for money. I stopped him and asked why he begged. He told me his mother died when he was really young. He is brought up by his uncle and his job is to beg. He wants to someday become someone important. Dreams and destination...I am not sure how he will be able to do that but I know, that morning, I really wished I could whisk this child away and bring him home and adopt him.

The Lord of New Beginnings

This picture was taken at Carter Road, Bandra, Mumbai. Ganesh Chaturthi came and went. The Lord of New Beginnings had been left to face the Arabian Sea. Revered and loved, it is a lonely God who now watches the sea alone.

Joy Is Not Just for the Young

In a laid back village on the outskirts of Vasai, I met Leena Maushi. I do not know when she was last photographed but it was a privilege and joy to spend some moments with her. Here was a beautiful woman, alive, self-sufficient and living her life. Lessons here. Big ones. Joy is not bound by the riches you have. It is that enrichment of the soul that lives with you day in and day out, free of limits of age, era or caste and creed.
